SOCIATE celebrates Highly Commended accolade at the PRCA MENA Awards 2021
SOCIATE’s PR team is recognised with a Highly Commended accolade in the CSR category at the PRCA MENA 2021 Awards; making it an award-winning agency
SOCIATE is now an award-winning agency following its recent achievement of a Highly Commended accolade at the PRCA MENA 2021 Awards. SOCIATE’s I Quit Plastic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign for its client, Sprudel, earned the communications agency the accolade.
SOCIATE’s PR team members involved in this campaign are PR Manager, Tazeen Jafri, and Junior PR Executive, Saakshi Khubani.
SOCIATE started working with Sprudel in June 2020, amidst the pandemic and lockdown, on a PR retainer. With an aim to change the way the UAE’s residents consume water, spread awareness about the planet-friendly water company, and highlight the importance of #PlasticFreeJuly, SOCIATE recommended that Sprudel develop a sub-brand, I Quit Plastic, to encourage people to quit plastic.
“I Quit Plastic,” is a sub-brand that highlights the evils of single-use plastic and the steps needed to pursue a sustainable lifestyle. SOCIATE recommended and provided a creative direction to Sprudel to fund the creation of a #PlasticFree Starter Kit. This kit was then distributed to media, influencers, and the pledge takers of the movement to help them get started on their journey to quit plastic and make an impact.
SOCIATE took on the challenge of not only communicating this topic, but also implemented creative ways of making people realise the impact of a small step. SOCIATE implemented a multifaceted communication strategy to target the English and Arabic media, and also won I Quit Plastic as a social media retainer client.
The movement surpassed the initial objectives as it had a 94.1% engagement rate and top-tier media outlets conducted interviews with the client about the movement. 22 pieces of coverage were also secured in all major media outlets and the initiative gained great momentum on social media.
SOCIATE continues to work with I Quit Plastic and hopes to gradually propel its social media followers into a plastic-free future. To follow I Quit Plastic’s social media journey, please follow @i_quitplastic on Instagram.
